Oscar and his father, Hector, manage the farm together and focus on cultivating varieties like Castillo, Colombia, and Caturra, but thanks to the high altitudes, they are also able to grow more delicate varieties such as Typica and Geisha.
 
The Daza family is fully committed to preserving the environment through sustainable practices at La Pradera estate. The farm is completely organic, with rainforest alliance and bird-friendly certifications. They are also looking more and more into natural and honey processing methods to save water. Their agroforestry system might go against the Federation's recommendations, but they stand firmly by it. Their system supports an abundance of wildlife. According to studies by biologists, shade coffee plantations harbor almost as much biodiversity as rainforest.
