Honduras - Dolmin Moreno

Sweet, juicy and balanced cup. Honey processed Pacas variety from Dolmin Moreno, a great coffee producer whose coffees are often in the top ten of CoE Honduras winners.

Filter coffee:

Sweet, syrupy poached pear and juicy stonefruit combine in a balanced cup with malic acidity and bright, elderflower-like florals.

Espresso:

Mirabelle, honey, elderflower and a slight clove spice.

Cappuccino:

Pillowy and sweet pear upside-down cake.

The Producer:

We met Dolmin and his family of specialty coffee producers for the first time back in 2014 on our first-ever trip to the origin. We have been buying coffees from him and his uncles every year since, and always look forward to Honduran coffee season with excitement. This year, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary with their coffees.

Dolmins farm lies around 1650 meters above sea level on the steep hills of Santa Barbara mountain range, with slope-specific-micro-climates. In this altitude, the coffee trees grow surrounded by shrouding clouds hanging thick around the deeply green backdrop. Combined with the rich volcanic soil, gives the Santa Barbara area coffees the complex cup profile they are known for and that we fell in love with.

Dolmin is focused on producing high-quality coffees and is no stranger to the CoE Honduras winners list. He has been landing in the top ten for multiple years in a row with his Geisha lots.

The Morenos have been the source of inspiration to many great specialty coffee farmers in this area and are highly respected producers in the community. To many, their family's success in their field has been the reason to start growing specialty coffee.
